Question: Why can't yahoo protect transgender chats from predetors?

Reporting harassment on yahoo is like a drop of water poured on a brush fire, it does little or no good. Yahoo took our private rooms and lumped everyone into public rooms with little or no support for complaints. I have personally filed over 100 complaints against the same person using several chat names and NOTHING has happened. What can a person do to protect themselves from this form of abuse? Ignore? That’s doesn’t stop the person from harassing others, Report them? They laugh at being reported. It may only be words on a screen but if this person is a threat or danger to a community then WHY ARE THEY STILL ALLOWED TO USE YAHOO? Online predators stalk and kill online users, read the news. They hack your computer, boot you from the room, stalk you from room to room, disrupt every chat, all for what? WHY CAN’T YAHOO PROTECT ITS CLIENTS?

I know it sucks, but the reason Yahoo doesn't take a more aggressive stance is that it would just be too time consuming, and the amount of man power and hours it would take to get rid of all the harassers and trolls would eventually be too costly and they would just shut down the chat rooms and forums. Really the best thing to do is ignore them. If they get no satisfaction out of harassing a user, they will move on. Like I said, it sucks. You can't stop someone, even banning an IP address would do little good. L

The lady above is right,theres not much yahoo can do, no one can stop you making another email account,in the next 10 years the internet will be alot more regulated who knows we may even be issued email accounts like social security numbers but until then you just have to be careful and hope for the best. i wouldnt worry about it too much there is alot of disturbing things on the internet you just have to ignore the darker side of what people post

Simple solution. Don't use the yahoo chat rooms. They aren't going to fix something if people keep using it. If you're concerned about your safety, find a more secure chat system to discuss things.
